Mr. Bartolomeo was born on January 6, 1934 in Ellwood City to the late Angelo Bartolomeo and Mary Scala Bartolomeo. He had attended Lincoln High School, and is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish. For 31 years Joe worked at the U.S. Steel Tube Mill in Ellwood City. After the mill closed Joe worked at the U.S. Steel American Bridge plant in Ambridge for 7 years. He also was an avid sports fan
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Rose M. Izzo Bartolomeo whom he married on October 1, 1955, one daughter and son-in-law; Donna (Chris) Ferruchie, one son and daughter-in-law; Joseph R. Bartolomeo Jr., and five grandchildren; Christopher, & Carlee Ferruchie, Brandie, Taylor, & Joseph R. Bartolomeo III all of Ellwood City. He is also survived by one sister; Anna (Ronald) Aiken of Wayne Twp., and four brothers; Victor (Tootie) Bartolomeo, Orlando (Jennie) Bartolomeo of Ellport, Angelo (Barbara) Bartolomeo Jr. of Wayne Twp., & Daniel (Rita) Bartolomeo also of Ellport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers; Albert, & Ronald Bartolomeo.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-8 pm in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am in the Holy Redeemer Church. Interment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Those attending the funeral mass are asked to meet at the funeral home on Saturday by 9:20 am.
